Dr. Reyes Topete is a Board Certified Addictionologist through the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ and has been in the field for over 20 years. He has provided detoxification services at many facilities in the Valley includes Aurora Behavioral Health, St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center and Community Bridges. Dr. Topete understands his patient’s individual needs and dedicates himself to giving them the best, safest and most appropriate care. He is committed to having open communication with referring professionals and the clinical team so that everyone is on the same page throughout the healing process.

Dr. Chandiramani, NMD

Dr. Ravi Chandiramani is a graduate of Bastyr University (2002). His unique approach to the treatment of chemical dependency and co-occurring psychological disorders has been refined over a decade of direct clinical experience with recovering addicts and alcoholics. Dr. Chandiramani’s work has provided the foundation for a new field of medicine, Integrative Addiction Medicine. Integrative Addiction Medicine (IAM) effectively combines evidence-based addiction medicine protocols with the nurturing and rebuilding modalities inherent to the practice of naturopathic medicine. To date, over 5000 chemically dependent patients have been successfully treated using the IAM model.

 

Dr. Chandiramani is President and CEO of Rays of the Sun, LLC, where he oversees the implementation and delivery of IAM in a variety of ambulatory treatment settings including subacute detox, residential treatment centers and outpatient medical/behavioral health practices. Dr. Chandiramani serves as Corporate Medical Director of Journey Healing Centers, overseeing 40 residential beds in 2 states (AZ, UT) and a multidisciplinary staff comprised of physicians, nurse practitioners, and behavioral health professionals.

Brenna Gonzales, MSC, LPC-S

Brenna has dedicated her life to serving others. She began her career working with incarcerated and homeless youth and has worked with countless people from all walks of life developing a passion for treating the disease of addiction. Brenna’s counseling style is approachable and includes a mix of client education with thoughtful techniques to help her clients uncover the most authentic and truthful version of themselves. She specializes in the treatment of trauma, chemical and process addictions, and codependence.

 

 

Brenna received her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling in 2011 and has been honing her craft ever since. Prior to joining the Soul Surgery team, Brenna was a Survivors Therapist at The Meadows working extensively with people struggling with addiction and trauma. She has had the privilege of being trained by many of today’s industry leaders, including Pia Mellody. Brenna is a Board Approved Supervisor and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Her training also includes EMDR, Post Induction Therapy, Complicated Pain Recovery, and NADA Auricular Acupuncture.

Regina is a native of Arizona and has been working in various aspects of healthcare since 1992 when she obtained her LPN license. Regina owned a successful medical billing company for 12 years and has served both physicians and treatment centers in billing and consulting. She continues to thrive in the business arena.

 

Regina has had an innate passion for wanting to help people heal from a young age. In 2007 she received her Licensed Massage Therapist from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, AZ with specialties in CranioSacral and Polarity Therapy.

 

Counseling meets Bodywork – Regina provides a safe and nurturing environment for clients to have somatic experiences and process through emotions and trauma stored in the body and the nervous system. She is passionate about working with addicts and alcoholics to teach them how they can stay present in their life. She is lovingly known as “The Feelings Lady” by Soul Surgery clients.

Callie Koons, RN

Callie is the Director of Nursing at Footprints to Recovery, our medical detox facility located in Mesa, AZ. She has worked in the field of recovery for several years and is very familiar with the detox process. She understands the medical, emotional and physical needs that can arise during that time and works closely with her interdisciplinary team and staff to provide an exceptional level of care.

 

Callie has always had a passion for helping, healing and teaching others and it has manifested into all aspects of her life. She began her career as a massage therapist where she developed a deep belief in holistic modalities. She owned a successful business for over 15 years, specializing in deep tissue, trigger point therapy and stretch therapy. It was in that practice where she found a strong desire to help others who suffer from chronic pain. She furthered her knowledge and experience by becoming a physical therapy technician where she learned to integrate exercise, cold laser therapy, and E-Stim. Her desire to help and heal led her to further her education and she became an RN in 2013. She has been able to expand her knowledge of addiction and addiction treatment by working with an amazing team of experienced doctors, therapists and peers. Her professional experiences have deepened her belief in the power of the healing process when a person is being treated as a “whole”.

Nneka Agbaeze, LPN

Nneka has two years as an LPN and more than 10 years in the medical field. Nneka started her medical experience in the Behavioral Health field and then moved on to working in medical claims. Since high school Nneka has wanted to be a nurse, so she decided to enter nursing school to become a Practical Nurse. After obtaining her license in 2017 she started working at Arizona State Hospital for Physiatry. At this time Nneka is pursuing her education to become a Register Nurse with the future goal to obtain NP in psychology.

Katherine has worked in the addictions field with a wide variety of clients since 2007. From inpatient to outpatient, community to prisons, Katherine has met clients that despite different backgrounds, income, gender or culture, they all had one goal in mind: to stay sober. Katherine’s main counseling modalities are a combination of brief interventions, solution focused and motivational interviewing. Each client is different and her approach celebrates and embraces those differences in her counseling style specializing relapse prevention and substance/process addictions.

 

Katherine has a Master’s Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling, is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor and a Board Approved Supervisor.

I received my Master of Counseling in 2017 from Arizona State University. I have worked in community mental health previously where I was involved in substance abuse classes. I am trained in EMDR. I enjoy working with groups and helping people achieve their goals. Ever since I began my career as a therapist, I have been motivated to help people and love what I do.

Josh is a Licensed Associate Counselor and has a Master of Counseling degree from Arizona State University. His undergraduate degree is in Biomedical Science. He is also board certified in biofeedback therapy by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. Josh has over 5 years’ experience in behavioral health and substance use settings including working with adults and children in private practice, community agencies, non-profit organizations, and in the college setting.

 

Josh utilizes a holistic treatment approach, highlighting the importance of using a multi-dimensional model of wellness. Josh’s person-centered approach focuses on the multicultural aspects of individuals while examining societal influences. CBT and DBT techniques are woven into his relational-cultural framework during individual and group counseling. Josh enjoys hiking, camping, yoga, and trying new recipes.

Leslie Stumpff, LMSW

Leslie has been working with individuals struggling with addiction for over 15 years in various capacities.  Leslie was an Administrator of Criminal Justice Programs for Drug Court in Kansas prior to moving to Arizona in 2016.

Leslie obtained her Masters in Social Work and licensure in 2016.  She worked as a substance abuse counselor with clients with severe and persistent mental illness prior to working at the detox facility.   She is trained as a trainer in Motivational Interviewing and Truthought and graduated from The University of Kansas Emerging Leaders Academy.

Rachael Uffens, MAC, LASAC

Rachael is a Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor and has a Masters of Arts in Addiction Counseling. Before joining the Soul Surgery team, Rachael worked as a senior substance abuse counselor with the Arizona Department of Corrections providing counseling and treatment services to the incarcerated population. During her years of counseling, Rachael has conducted assessments, treatment and discharge planning, psycho-therapy and psycho-education, use of motivational interviewing, as well as both individual and group counseling using CBT and DBT techniques.

 

Rachael is passionate about providing therapy to individuals no matter age, race, gender, background, or culture. Her focus and interests are in the neurobiology of addiction, family systems, and relapse prevention. Rachael believes in individualized treatment that meets the needs of each distinct client while continuing to provide services in an environment that is safe, supportive, and hopeful.

Dave Cottrell MA, LASAC

Dave has been providing substance abuse treatment in the Phoenix area for 9 years. Prior to joining the Soul Surgery team, Dave worked with community agencies providing treatment to individuals struggling to reclaim their lives from the grips of addiction. Dave has worked in residential inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment and with parolees who struggled to stay sober after being released from prison. Dave works to help clients understand the disease of addiction, how it affects the client, family and loved ones, to establish a functional relapse prevention plan to assist clients in staying sober. Dave’s goal is to meet the client where they are and provide evidence-based treatment to assist each client in their personal journey to recovery.

 

Dave moved to Arizona in 2010 after completing his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of St Mary’s in Leavenworth Kansas.

Jana Love, MS

Jana grew up in North Dakota and moved to Wyoming after graduating from NDSCS. She moved to central Arizona where she married and began to raise her two children. Jana’s career in the helping field began in 1999 while working in a multi-dimensional approach, family systems, residential setting for youth. Jana held positions as direct line care staff, supervisor, and community life director, closely coordinating with providers and educators to develop specialized treatment plans. Jana facilitated psychoeducational and experimental activities, coached intramural sports teams, and mentored adolescent females throughout daily happenings. Through the twelve years Jana spent with this organization, she learned the value in treating people for overall wellness.

 

Her desire to positively impact all individuals through emotional, relational, spiritual, intellectual, and physical support led her to the Phoenix area where she enjoyed working with seriously mentally ill adults in Maricopa County providing integrated behavioral health and wellness assistance as an ACT case manager. She also worked as a BHT for several years in inpatient mental health and addiction hospitals in the valley. Jana obtained a BS in Human Services from Old Dominion University and an MS in Mental Health and Wellness from Grand Canyon University. She joined Footprints to Recovery as an intake clinician in April of 2018. Jana finds it rewarding to provide education and support to individuals and families seeking recovery guidance.

I have a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in trauma. I have been in the field of addiction for over 14 years. I have worked with families involved with Department of Child Safety as a parent aide, family consultant in reunification and preservation and then became a supervisor in all 3 programs. I also have worked as a intake clinician as well as a primary counselor which I am now here at The Hope House. I have a true passion for helping people heal and grow in their professional and personal lives. Helping people be successful on their path is truly one of the most rewarding feelings.

Anne Marie Kludka-Garza, MS

Anne Marie began her education at Purdue University majoring in Psychology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and developed a passion for law enforcement and psychiatric care. She has over 18 years of judicial/D.O.C. experience across a variety of roles in Illinois and Arizona. After earning her Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology she decided to become more involved with direct patient care. As a result, Anne Marie became a facilitator of psycho-educational classes for county jails in an effort to teach cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management, parenting and Decision Point treatment. She felt the need for bridging the gap between corrections and the community. Her current role as a Clinician allows her to help a unique population of patients by providing a wide spectrum of therapy techniques.

 

Anne Marie has a broad range of clinical experience working with individuals and groups across the life span in the following areas: depression and bipolar disorder, individuals with special needs, anxiety disorders, anger and stress management, trauma and abuse, suicide assessment and risk reduction, group psychotherapy, and chronic mental illness. Anne Marie is invested in an approach emphasizing a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health. She is particularly concerned with the impact of loss and trauma by improving interventions to support trauma recovery for a better emotional, physical and relationship health.

Chrissy Barth, MS, RDN, RYT

Chrissy Barth, MS, RDN, RYT, is an integrative and functional performance dietitian and mind-body expert in the field of holistic nutrition who is passionate about teaching others about optimal health and wellness by taking the confusion out of nutrition. Chrissy serves as a nutrition consultant to sports teams, spas, mental health programs, medical and training facilities, corporations, and local and national media outlets serving as a media spokesperson. Chrissy is also a Lecturer at Arizona State University where she teaches sports nutrition, complementary health care, human nutrition and entrepreneurship and serves as a mentor to many aspiring future dietitians. Chrissy is currently earning a certification in Polestar Pilates which is a life-changing movement exercise that fuses Pilates, physical therapy, and mind-body energy systems.

 

Chrissy has been awarded inclusion of Cambridge Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals in Dietetics “Honors Edition” of the Registry – the single highest mark of achievement as a dietitian and has received recognition as Arizona’s Young Dietitian of the Year. Chrissy enjoys giving back to her community and volunteers her time educating youth athletes on the benefits of sports nutrition.

 

As a registered dietitian nutritionist, she is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and its practice groups of sports and weight management dietitians, nutrition entrepreneurs, and dietitians in integrative and functional medicine the latter where she serves as the Mind-Body editor of the Integrative RDN Newsletter.  Chrissy is also an active member of the Arizona Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitians Association, The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, the International Sports Sciences Association, Yoga Alliance, and the National Speakers Association – Arizona.

 

Chrissy received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in human nutrition from Arizona State University. An athlete, foodie, and sports enthusiast, Chrissy enjoys dining out with friends and family, spending time outdoors hiking, traveling back east to visit family in Virginia, and supporting many local athletic events across the country. Last, but certainly not least, you can be sure to catch Chrissy in a yoga studio most days of the week and encourages many of her clients to incorporate yoga and other mindfulness-based practices into their lifestyles for optimal wellness.

Erica is an NCCAOM board certified licensed acupuncturist. She received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from The Phoenix Institute of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture. She chose acupuncture and herbal medicine as a career path because it allows her to treat the root cause of disharmony and offer a path to true healing for those in need. Marica Noel is a Licensed Massage Therapist with ten years of experience. I love the work that I do! Seeing my clients leave my table feeling better, more relaxed, experiencing a better range of motion, reduced stress and decreased pain brings me joy. I am very passionate about my work. I give my best during every massage to ensure that my clients feel respected, relaxed, and rejuvenated. I specialize in deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, basic craniosacral therapy, reflexology, facilitated stretching and Lomi Lomi to name a few. I graduated from the ACCET accredited Professional Massage Therapy Program at Arizona School of Massage Therapy in September of 2009 after 1,036 hours of advanced Eastern and Western bodywork training.

Kenny started in the food service industry over 36 years ago and is classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. His culinary career spans working for hotels, resorts, country clubs, and restaurants, to working as a Private Chef/Major Domo for the wealthy and famous, to being a Culinary Professor at a Cordon Bleu Culinary School.

 

Kenny himself entered into a Drug and Alcohol treatment center in May of 1988 and currently has over 30 years of continuous Sobriety and Cleantime. While working at Soul Surgery the last couple of years, Kenny has thoroughly enjoyed interacting directly with the Clients.
