Dr. Reyes Topete is a Board Certified Addictionologist through the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ and has been in the field for over 20 years. He has provided detoxification services at many facilities in the Valley includes Aurora Behavioral Health, St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center and Community Bridges. Dr. Topete understands his patient’s individual needs and dedicates himself to giving them the best, safest and most appropriate care. He is committed to having open communication with referring professionals and the clinical team so that everyone is on the same page throughout the healing process.

Dr. Chandiramani, NMD

Dr. Ravi Chandiramani is a graduate of Bastyr University (2002). His unique approach to the treatment of chemical dependency and co-occurring psychological disorders has been refined over a decade of direct clinical experience with recovering addicts and alcoholics. Dr. Chandiramani’s work has provided the foundation for a new field of medicine, Integrative Addiction Medicine. Integrative Addiction Medicine (IAM) effectively combines evidence-based addiction medicine protocols with the nurturing and rebuilding modalities inherent to the practice of naturopathic medicine. To date, over 5000 chemically dependent patients have been successfully treated using the IAM model.


Dr. Chandiramani is President and CEO of Rays of the Sun, LLC, where he oversees the implementation and delivery of IAM in a variety of ambulatory treatment settings including subacute detox, residential treatment centers and outpatient medical/behavioral health practices. Dr. Chandiramani serves as Corporate Medical Director of Journey Healing Centers, overseeing 40 residential beds in 2 states (AZ, UT) and a multidisciplinary staff comprised of physicians, nurse practitioners, and behavioral health professionals.

Ria Flanagan, MA, MFT, LISAC, CSAT

Ria Flanagan is an independently licensed substance abuse counselor. She  received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Pepperdine University in California. She has worked in the recovery field for several years. Before taking the Clinical Director position at Soul Surgery she worked as a primary therapist at The Meadows specializing in dual diagnosis clients. During her years at the Meadows she worked closely with Pia Mellody and was certified in Post Induction Therapy. Ria is also a Certified Sex addiction Therapist, has extensive experiential training including psychodrama training, certified in Cognitive Processing therapy, and trained in somatic modalities and is a pain management coach.  She worked closely with the young adult population at The Claudia Black Center where she gained experience working with families, interventions, crisis management and behavioral issues. She worked as an in-home clinician with children and families at Terros, providing education and therapy to families in crisis and helping them reunite.


Ria moved to Arizona in 2011 to take an administration position as an Assistant Program Manager at Sunshine Group Homes, where she managed several group homes, trained staff, facilitated groups with children, and created programming.


She started her counseling career interning for Green Dot Public schools providing counseling to adolescents with a range in diagnosis including depression, anger management issues, anxiety, schizophrenia, PTSD, ADHD, relational and family issues. She also worked during her Master’s program in the homes of children with autism and supporting families with ABA, psychoeducation and family therapy. After work she practices self-care by focusing on her family, practicing yoga and daily meditation.

Brenna Gonzales, MSC, LPC

Brenna has dedicated her life to serving others. She began her career working with incarcerated and homeless youth and has worked with countless people from all walks of life developing a passion for treating the disease of addiction. Brenna’s counseling style is approachable and includes a mix of client education with thoughtful techniques to help her clients uncover the most authentic and truthful version of themselves. She specializes in the treatment of trauma, chemical and process addictions, and codependence.


Brenna received her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling in 2011 and has been honing her craft ever since. Prior to joining the Soul Surgery team, Brenna was a Survivors Therapist at The Meadows working extensively with people struggling with addiction and trauma. She has had the privilege of being trained by many of today’s industry leaders, including Pia Mellody. Brenna is a Board Approved Supervisor and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, Candidate. Her training also includes EMDR, Post Induction Therapy, Complicated Pain Recovery, and NADA Auricular Acupuncture.


Chelsea Gallaway, RDN

Received Bachelors of Science in Dietetics from Arizona State University. Is registered through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Background in Eating Disorders, Intuitive Eating, and Addiction Nutrition. Also works in the acute care setting and has much experience in detox and post-acute withdrawal.


Clean and sober since 2015. Works to help clients obtain attainable and sustainable nutrition goals that will help them in not just in early recovery, but for a lifetime.

Chef Kenny Witczak

Kenny started in the food service industry over 36 years ago and is classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. His culinary career spans working for hotels, resorts, country clubs, and restaurants, to working as a Private Chef/Major Domo for the wealthy and famous, to being a Culinary Professor at a Cordon Bleu Culinary School.


Kenny himself entered into a Drug and Alcohol treatment center in May of 1988 and currently has over 30 years of continuous Sobriety and Cleantime. While working at Soul Surgery the last couple of years, Kenny has thoroughly enjoyed interacting directly with the Clients.
